Raskolnikoffs Room

Just started reading Crime and Punishment..for the 4th time, but Ive decided to read it with a creative incentive towards my attempt at finishing it. I love beautifully illustrated books, images that are comforting and attentive to detail. I dont think I would have the visual stamina to illustrate a story but Ive always had very vivid images popping up in my head every time I read a good book. It hasnt occured to me until recently to draw these mental images. In Crime and Punishment, the central character Raskolnikoff begins his fictional life within a tiny yellow walled room which he can barely afford.

He was stifled and cramped in this little yellow room which felt like a cupboard.

This single sentence sparked off a number of images in my mind. Right now Im finishing off a piece which ill post as soon as its done. After that I ll imagine what Raskolnikoffs room would look like if he hired me as his interior decorator. Not that he would afford it but i can only imagine....

by the way..anyone whos wondering whether Im grammatically dyslexic or just lazy, the absence of apostrophes and other dots and spots are due to my seriously confused laptop. Along with my seriously confused brain, its taking me longer than it should to sort it out. But i will do. Hopefully. Wish me luck because I need my brackets!
