I see the clown as a subversive symbol of masculinity. Their need to perform and to exaggerate emotions that would otherwise be hidden away..... I sound like Im writing a thesis... Not quite finished but getting there.
You didn't get that MA for nothing missus! I like the incorporation of text. I'm Interested to see the end result. To answer your questions - No I didn't strectch the paper but I should have (laid on the paint in thin glazes so it wasn't too bad) and I worked from a photo.
